Sustainable Material Series
As a person who is working and interested in building construction materials, sustainable materials are one of the most elements for future construction. They are beneficial for our living spaces, their maintenance and finally our environment. So, I like to share one of favorite material which I’m so excited about it.
During a global push toward sustainability, more than 20% of the world’s largest public companies have already made commitments to net-zero carbon emissions in the future. The same trend can be seen in the manufacturing industry. Many manufacturing companies, along with government entities, are pushing the sector toward carbon neutrality. Adopting sustainable practices can provide several benefits to businesses, according to the EPA.
One of the materials which really catch my eyes is a start-up called ECO2Blocks , a young team from one of my second home, Portugal.
Personally, I really admire ECO2Blocks, they develop and produce 100% recycled pavement blocks which are carbon negative and reduce up to 30% production costs with the current manufacturing process. Sustainable materials also provide a boost for circular systems and allow for the implementation of a circular economy.
As far as I know, this young team develop sustainable construction materials, applies the principles of circular economy to fabricate sustainable construction materials. The final product is a carbon-negative pavement blocks do not contain any cement by implementing a cost-effective manufacturing process. furthermore, ECO2Blocks utilizes industrial waste, non-potable water, and carbon dioxide absorption technology without diverting natural resources.
